Electric and gas hobs generally have 4 zones/burners, but we also offer compact 2 zone/burner options as well as 5 or 6 zone/burner options. Neff Induction hobs can offer Flexinduction zones which is made up of two zones that can be combined to make a much bigger zone suitable for Griddle plates or Teppan Yaki plates. Gas hobs come in a range of sizes from 60cm wide 4 burners with enamel or cast iron supports to 75cm with a large wok to 90cm wide in a stainless steel or black tempered glass.
Ceramic Hob versus Induction Hob? Both offer the same streamlined smooth glass look. The glass surface makes it easy to clean. Induction hobs use magnetism to heat the pan, not the hob unlike the ceramic hob heating up the ceramic plate which in turn heats the pan. Induction is very efficient as it uses less power than ceramic hob & safer too as it only heats the pan not the zone minimising the risk of burns during and after cooking. Siemens hobs have a boost function. This allows the cooking zones to reach extremely high power & allows for quick cooking of meals.
Can I get a hob that removes steam? Yes, venting induction hobs eliminate the need for a separate extractor fan. Venting hobs combine an induction hob with a built-in extractor system that draws steam, oil and other particles down and out through highly effective carbon filters or duct-out system.
